Rules of Aftercare:
•Wash your hands thoroughly prior to cleaning or touching your piercing and jewelry.
• We recommend a sterile saline or sea salt solution made by dissolving ¼ teaspoon of non-iodized (iodine free) sea salt in one cup of warm distilled or bottled water. A stronger mixture is not better, saline solution that is too strong can irritate your piercing. We offer a pre-mixed solution that is available for purchase (PRO-SPRAY). Apply using a fresh gauze or cotton ball. Pat dry with disposable paper towels or gauze.
•Do NOT use cloth towels because they can harbor bacteria and can easily catch on piercings.
•Do NOT use rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, Neosporin, or any kind of triple antibiotic ointment.
•You may take an over the counter, non-steroid anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen or naproxen sodium for pain or swelling.
HOW LONG UNTIL I CAN CHANGE THE JEWELRY?
•Be mindful of your new piercing and avoid touching it unless you are cleaning it.
•Periodically check that the balls are tightened securely.
•Do not soak or submerge your piercing until it is completely healed. No lakes, pools, hot tubs, baths, etc.
•A piercing can take anywhere from 3 to 9 months depending on the specific piercing, that can fluctuate depending on the individual.
•Use common sense if you are advised to follow different aftercare methods other than those listed above. Be aware there are many products on the market that can slow healing and/or promote an allergic reaction.
